About SPR

South Perth cycle club was established in 2009 to draw together and co-ordinate the social, recreational and competitive activities within the existing South Perth Rouleurs community. Our club is as much about being part of a “cycling family” as being an elite racer, and to this end we hold a number of social events throughout the year to achieve this.

Our club offers training rides throughout the week and caters for all skill levels, from novice through to A-grade racer.  Our primary focus is our weekend group rides which regularly attract more than 100 riders across various speed groups, as well as regular training rides during the week.

We also aim to develop pathways for those pursuing an interest in racing, with particular emphasis in developing women’s racing, and we have a number of female riders of varying ability from novice to semi-professional who can provide support for new members.

If racing is your thing, then our calendar shows the races that we will target and support.  If you intend to be, (or are) a regular rider on our training rides, we suggest you purchase a Membership (either racing or recreational) for cover in the event of an accident.  For more information on this contact a committee member.

We welcome new riders and would hope to see you out on the road sometime.  For more details contact Daniel (Club President) via e-mail.

The club has four “official” web / social media sites:

Of these, only the SPR Facebook Group is “closed”. That said, if you’re a member of SPR, if you ride with us or if you’re just interested in getting to know us, please get in touch and ask to join.

At times we may also operate other closed groups, such as the Race Buddy Program. Don’t stress – you’re sure to hear about opportunities to participate in any specific training or related groups via the club’s website and blog!

Please read our Community Guidelines and Sponsorship, Advertising & Promotions Policy for more information about contributing.
