about SPR

the south perth cycle club was established in 2009 to draw together and co-ordinate the social, recreational and competitive activities within the existing south perth rouleurs community. the club offers training rides throughout the week and tries to cater for all skill levels, from novice through to a-grade racer.  it’s primary focus is the weekend group rides which regularly attract up to 80 riders.

the club is as much about being part of a “cycling family” as being an elite racer, and to this end we have a number of social events throughout the year to achieve this.

we aim to develop pathways for those pursuing an interest in racing, with particular emphasis in developing women’s racing.  we have a number of female riders of varying ability from novice to semi-professional racers so can provide support and pathways for new members.

to that end, we welcome new riders and would hope to see you out on the road sometime.  if racing is your thing, then our calendar show the races that we intend to target this year in which there is generally a lot of support for everyone.  if you intend to (or are) a regular rider on our training rides, it is recommended that you purchase a licence (either racing or recreational) to allow a little extra cover in the unfortunate event of an accident.  for more information on this contact a committee member.
