Swan Valley Cyclo Sportif 2011

Mike Tan has now bugged me twice about this so I figured I should put up a post and get the ball rolling. Last year the club had a total of around 7 teams entered this event. The event is on the 26th of June and registrations are now open.

I am sure El Prez wants another strong showing at this event this year and I am sure we can out-do our numbers from last year. From what I remember we got together a list of all those that were interested and then El Prez sorted everyone into groups.

Summary of the information for the event.

Date: Sunday 26th June 2011
Start Time: 9.00am
Location: Midvale Speed Dome
Distances: A – 80 km, B – 64km, C – 32 km (approx distances)
Timing Cut-off: 12:45pm
Lunch: from 11:30am
Presentations: 1:15pm approx.

Cost: $75 non BWA members

We need team leaders to pay the money for each team up front and then the members will then need to pay back the team leaders. No refunds will be given if you pull out. It is best to have people of the same abilities grouped together.

In order to make this year easier to manage I have created a quick form to gather a few details of people who are interested. If you are please complete the form below. I promise I will not sell your details to a marketing company.

For now Just use this link to view the form until I can get Mike to allow the form to be embedded

  1. Hmm…On the same day as the Track Cycling Grand Prix..awesome…:)

Anywho, i’d be ok with doing the 32km option if i’m not the only t person there. Is anyone else from the tranny gang interested?

  2. I’m in the for A distance, how ever it looks. Happy to lead, follow, push, be pushed, mix it up or to just go with the chicks.

  3. @Nathan,

It’s $75 for a non-BWA member! That’s up $10 (16%) from last year. It includes a meal (decent) and a there’s an “International Grand Prix” on at the track.

    1. i can’t believe they can justify asking $75 per person for an event like this. however, as part of the festival of cycling, spr will have a tent set up similar to what we had last year. hopefully we see a few of the boys out on the track as well (looking at you quadzilla)

      1. It is a bit steep, but I suppose it’s basic economics. Keep raising the price until people stop paying it.

I’ll ride the A distance, but only if we’ve got SPR people to yell at during the track meet.

  4. A SPR Poseurs Team will be entered.. Both Poseurs have confirmed they are interested.. And ‘Poseurs’ sounds less w*nky than ‘Fast’ I think. If we are really lucky Jarrad may even don his funky inflateable white retro leather gloves (along with silk scarf of course) for the occasion..
