2012 memberships

i recently had a look at the website site that lets us keep tabs on who currently is a member.  as the racing licences are set for a calendar year, as soon as new years day came around, our membership dropped from 260 members to 136 (currently).  there are also some recreational licences that expired at the end of the year.

now is the best time for you to renew your licence because even if you are not looking at racing just yet, you are also riding without any insurance.  the insurance doesn’t give you a massive amount of coverage, but something is better than nothing.  also, your membership money (well our part) goes towards club activities and equipment that all members get to benefit from.

you can renew through the link under our membership section which can be found here.  also on that page are links for new members to join.  if you have been riding with us for a while, it is recommended that you get at least a recreational (RIDE) licence.  this gives you a bit of coverage plus puts something back into the club.

also (just to drag up old issues) if you have bought a kit and are not a member, maybe you should read some of the feedback here, to see how the other members of the club feel about it.

  1. My licence (restricted = recreational?) expires 31/12/2011 so I guess that means I owe the club membership for 2012. With other clubs i have been a member of in the past they let you know by email or by letter that your subs are due and so you have a physical reminder which seems pretty effective. Is that an alternative? 260 people (minus 136 current members) by $0.60 stamp? Or Pete, is there a way we can post a list of members and expiry dates or does that contravene privacy laws?
