Crit #3 this Sat Arvo – Memberships – Volunteers

The next exciting chapter of our crit series in on this Saturday afternoon.  The event has been a huge success so far with some spectacular racing and great atmosphere.  Not sure about you guys, but I put this squarely down to our club and RCCC being full of top people doing a superb job at running an event.  Like the guy in The Castle says – “it’s all about the vibe!’

Couple of things you need to know for this weekend.  Firstly, please note the race is Saturday afternoon!

Anticipated Start Times

D Grade: 3.00pm (20 minutes + 2 laps)

C Grade: 3.30pm (30 minutes + 2 laps)

B Grade: 4.10pm (40 minutes + 2 laps)

A Grade: 5.00pm (50 minutes + 2 laps)

The point leader jerseys have arrived too so we should be presenting these on the evening.

Secondly, for most of us this will be the first race of the 2011 year – do you have a current license?  All 2010 licenses have expired.  Get your butts into gear and renew your membership now!  Go to this page to do it: Memberships

Finally – and always the most important – we need to sort out our volunteer roster again.  Please nominate yourself in the comments section below if you are able to help out.  Thanks.

  1. I’d be willing to help out as i’m kind of pondering doing “d” grade…

I’ve never raced a road crit before(don’t have a racing licence either) & am wondering how safe “d” grade would be? What’s the average speed? Are any of the other “d’ grade riders SPR folk?

I just want to give it a shot for a saturday afternoon challenge..

    1. If it’s being run the same as the two previous days, there’ll be an experienced rider or two in with the D-Grade peeps to give advice about positioning, racing etc. From what I gather they hang around for 10-15 minutes or so, and then it’s a free-for-all.

  2. Stupid injuries still giving me grief but will be available to help out. Pretty sure Lennie will be available too.
