Due to issue with my frame I have to ship my frame back to the UK. This means I have no bike for however long this is going to take.

What I need help with is how do I go about packing and sending the frame back to the UK. I don’t think I can take my frame to Australia Post shop and expect them to know how to pack and send it.

Does anyone have experience with this sort of thing or ship overseas as part of there work and can help me pack and send the bike back to the UK.

Not sure if I am going to beg for a spare bike or try and put the Oppy back together.

Feedback welcome.

If you don’t have anything to pack it in, you could go down to your local bike shop and see if they have any bike boxes which they would normally throw out anyway.

As for packing, try asking them too…?

Bill

I have packed frames myself using good condition bike boxes or boxes i have cut down, pre-wrapping all components inside and have sent them interstate and overseas using Australia Post no problems. For example I used Aust Post to send a frame to USA, the costs were : Airmail $78, Express Airmail $83, Express Courier international $116, Insurance $16
I have also used “Pack and Send” to wrap, box and freight things, including a $7000 track wheelset to Adelaide recently for $250 including insurance (717B Sensitive Freighting). They were very very good to deal with.

Bill. Bike went off yesterday. U used pack and send. Cost me $546 insured. Is currently in Singapore. Its a retarded amount of money for something that weighs 700grams to get charged at 18kgs. That’s cubic weight for you.
