Freeway Bike Hike

spr

The day after the SPR breaky is the Perth Freeway Bike Hike.

We have a perfect opportunity to carb up the day before!

It is a great event to participate in and it would be wonderful to see lots of SPR jerseys out there!

There are 10, 30 and 60k distances and a wide variety of

ability levels.

There is a specific race group for WACF members which will be the first to leave at 7am.

Register online before 6pm Friday 20th March (Friday 13th for team entries).

If there are a number of us participating there will be a rendezvous point and group ride organised to get back to the city.

Indicate if you are participating in the comments below.

All event information

is available on HBF Freeway Bike Hike for Asthma site.

  1. Beware the Freeway Hike….carnage central.
Think the round the river is bad try this one.

    Good luck.

  2. Think of the films ‘Gladiator’ and ‘Terminator’…but on two wheels. oh, and *you* are the stunt man.

leave your delicate little petal carbon frames at home people – this is a job for some serious metal.

ice hockey padding and take no prisoners attitude is not included in the ticket, but may come in handy.

of course i’m kidding (sort of) and best of luck to all who support another good cause.

Tip of the Day: if you’re boxed in, don’t panic but i’d suggest make a bee-line for the open side.

  3. Perhaps a SPCC donation to the Asthma Foundation and we go up into the Hills for the riding??

  4. Im doing the WACF version :)We go first and have a break before the mob go 🙂
My aim stay at the front mwah hahaha

  5. Myself and Lennie will ride and brave the chaos. It’s a great event and recommended but there are a few riders who must add at least 5km on with the amount of sideways shifts they do. I did it a couple of years ago and coming towards the end at Jonndalup there was six or seven of us at the front of A-group all from SPR. Great to repeat that again but all with matching kits this time !

  6. I am in the race part too – after nearly being squashed alive last year by a husband and wife combo on matching bikes (yellow wheels and all) and matching outfits (cant comment too much as we all wear matching 😉 ) I will happily set off before the masses.

  7. I am going to go in in because I haven’t done it before. For those who are going in it, can we plan to meet somewhere and help defend eachother from the masses?

  8. That’s just what I need… a white knight to defend me from the weekend warriors 😉

Happy to have a pre-race rendezvous point… but for those in the WACF group it’s unlikely we’ll all stay together for long.
