peter clark classic

this weekend the peter clark classic will be held by northern districts cycle club.  unlike the previous years, the course will not be the rough roads of the north but instead loops around the observatory.

starting at carmel, the course winds out towards pickering brook before climbing up the “easy” side of the observatory.  after a nice descent, there is one last power climb back to the finish line.  the course is 14kms long and the “a” graders do 8 laps, “b” does 6, women do 5 and “c” grade do 4.  if you are planning on doing the uci race next weekend, this will be a good warm up event to test the legs.  if you regularly do the sunday hills ride, then this race is also for you.

the flyers are attached below, but registrations are due by midnight tonight and can be found here.

there are also day licences available so those without a full racing licence can still enter.

add your name to the comments below if you are doing this race so we can organise the tent and refreshments.

  1. Just a note to people, if you want a day licence, you still have to buy that online by tonight. No late noms/rego. Which is a shame because I was hoping that if I am over my cold by the weekend, I might have ridden it.

  2. b grade for me too….planning to ride out with spr hills at 7 to warm up , hopefully going in the right direction pete?

  3. Just a note guys. Day licenses are for C Grade only we are not allowed to do day licenses for B and A. (Northern Nic’s Dad) Also whilst there is a cut off if you ring CWA you can still get in.

  4. I’ve registered for ‘B’ grade but am flying in early Sat morning from being off the bike for two weeks so don’t know how I’ll go.
