A Message From Dome

Hi guys!

Spring is definitely upon us and the numbers of cyclists arriving at the cafe on Saturday morning is increasing just like the temperature.

I just wanted to let you all know that I am currently working on acquiring some new granite tables for our al fresco area to increase seating capacity for summer.

We also have some bike racks on the way that will enable you to rack your bikes when you come in for a coffee. Hurrah!

Most of you don’t know this – but getting approval for having cyclists come to the cafe as been a huge drama. It’s taken me ten months of negotiation with our building management to come to a arrangement that we are both happy with.

The good news is cyclists on Saturday mornings have the green light! All we ask is that you look after the building and your bikes when you are in the area, and when the racks arrive please use them.

Thanks again to you all for supporting the cafe. We all certainly love having you here – and the more the merrier!

If any of you have any questions about the cycling – coffee relationship, want to use the place for a function, or want your coffee remade because we didn’t get it right – please don’t hesitate to ask me. I’m the one guy wandering around behind the bar in lycra, or chewing stem in Main 1.

Thanks again,

Toby

  1. Thanks for going to such efforts to make Dome such an integral part of SPR Toby…
Now I understand why you haven’t had time to shave your legs 😉

    1. He hasn’t shaved because he is going for the Euro Sheek look (as opposed to the Shreeek look….:P)

Great work Toby, and although I don’t drink Coffee, I will always point people in the direction of Dome when they are looking for a coffee shop. Well done to you and all the staff.

  2. I’d just like to add my support for our club coffee shop vis. booking & using for functions. We recently had Paul O’s farewell dinner there; it was an ALL AGES event where we had nearly as many kids (x12) as adults (x15). The food/drinks/service was, as always, exceptional. But what was really great was how accepting and friendly the staff were when all the ruggies were being…well…ruggies! They were being kids – in and out of the cafe; running around outside; getting 50 drinks of water; all wanting their food at the same time [which they got]; all wanting their desserts at the same time [which they got]….need I continue?

    5* recommendation for me.

Kudos to the friendly, welcoming and understanding team; and you too Toby.

    1. thanks very much Rob – really nice to hear stuff like that. I’ll make sure to pass the message on to the team who were working that night.
