australia day means a lot of different things to different people. for cyclists it often means an extra day to ride where you can get in some big k’s. just remember that there will also be a lot of other people out on the road and some may not be as tolerant or as sober as normal. be careful out there and look out for each other. to those from the club enjoying the tour down under, i hope aussie day celebrations get amped up when cadel wins the aussie tour on aussie day….
ride leaders – it is in the clubs best interest to develop new riders so that they ride in a safe manner. put your name down here to ensure the club grows to its potential. being the holidays, some of the regulars may be away, here is a chance for you to have a go at leading a group. the club needs you even more to represent it in ensuring the ride etiquette is followed.
australia day crits – the rccc will be running their usual aussie day crits at the tech park circuit. entries are open till friday noon. more info here.
bike skills course – check out the previous post about the bike skills course being held in feb. also checkout the testimonials in the comments of that post for some great feedback.
ride routes – whiteman park on saturday, so make sure your garmins are working. new ride route on sunday with both the kahuna and turner rd involved. also, with the road closures on sunday, the hills ride will meet at the cnr of coode and angelo st. usual public holiday ride on monday, watch out for the broken glass.
