Look, it’s one of those personal choices like bartape and saddles! Sure, the screen resolution is a nice improvement and it’s a lot bigger (some would say too big), but I only had the 800, which didn’t have the bluetooth or wifi options so figured I’d try the 1000.
So far, I’m very happy with it. It weighs about the same, despite its size, and has a lot of additional pages for both training and racing.
If you’re looking to make the jump to the 1000, be prepared to fork out for a new mount, given its size. That is unless you’re happy with the Garmin one. I prefer the K-Edge option.
